Hanukkah Menorah Activities
- Clothespin Menorah
(Ages 3-8)
It’s always fun to swirl different paint colors together! For this menorah, your little artist is encouraged to mix different paint colors to create a waxy look for the clothespin candles. What’s especially cool is you can “light” this crafty menorah each night by clipping on just the right amount of clothespin candles.
- Hanging Menorah
(Ages 5-16)
Making this festive Hanging Menorah is an awesome opportunity to learn (or practice) the very useful skill of hand sewing. Similar to the Clothespin Menorah, you can also “light” this one all eight nights by sewing on one new flame each evening.
- Handprint Menorah
(Ages 3-8)
This Hanukkah art project can be a bit messy, but it’s totally worth it. All you’ll need to get your budding artist started is 3 everyday craft materials: some paint (yellow and blue), paintbrushes (you may not even need these if they’re just using their cute kiddo hands), and white card stock paper.
- Candlemaking for Hanukkah
(Ages 5-16)
Lighting the menorah to celebrate Hanukkah is a beautiful and ancient tradition. This DIY offers your kids the opportunity to contribute to their menorah in a special new way: by making their own candles! They’ll have a ton of fun experimenting with colors and watching how the colors change as the wax cools.
- Paper Circuit Menorah
(Ages 6-16)
Is your kid up for an interesting STEAM Hanukkah challenge? This circuit craft encourages a bit of tinkering and does a great job bringing the beauty of art and the forces of science together. What a fantastic way for them to experiment with design and practice engineering!
